East Brighton Lib Dems call for new secondary school4.44.12am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 4th Apr 2007
East Brighton Lib Dem Candidates Trefor Hunter, Tim Hodlin and James Ledward have launched a petition calling on the Council to provide a new school for children in Central and east Brighton. 'The council closed COMART and replaced it with nothing. The knock on effects of this action have had repercussions across the City with dissatisfaction in many areas. As well as a good choice of schools available to all students, journeys across the city need to be kept to a minimum. The Lib Dems are looking at possible sites suitable for the development of a new school over a period of time. Petition reads: We, the undersigned, call upon Brighton and Hove City Council to establish a new secondary school in central or eastern Brighton.
