Councillors are proposing Budget amendments investing in a crucial domestic violence project, more on youth work and employment, and improvements to a seafront playground and are bidding to restore railings to one of our regency squares.

Liberal Democrat Group Leader David Watkins said; "We are pleased to support various initiatives within the budget aimed at improving the quality of life of our residents. The investment in the city's youth services is absolutely critical and a tremendous step forward on these issues. The investment in heritage projects such as the development work for the Norfolk Square railing is extremely welcome and will continue the good progress made in the Norfolk Square area."

If accepted without amendment by council these proposals will lead to a 4.8% Council Tax increase. Adding in Police and Fire would lead to an overall increase of 4.9%.
