Proposals for the merger of the parking have been rejected by opposition Councillors, leaving Labour's plans for the scheme under question.

Speaking at the Council's Environment Committee (14.9.06) Lib Dem Councillor Paul Elgood said: 'Following the high number of objections, the Council has not got the boundary issue right, it needs to be looked at again.'

Labour will now have to re-think their proposals in the light of the defeat.
