Lib Dem message of support to Dump The Dump

In support of the campaign by Dump The Dump against the proposed Hollingdean Waste Transfer and Materials Recovery Facility - Veolia, Hollingdean Lane (former abattoir site), Lib Dem Environment Spokesperson Paul Elgood said:

'Liberal Democrats remain opposed to the proposal, as we are against the joint Council's Waste Local Plan. We believe that the application will be damaging to the environment, is too large for its location, will cause unacceptable heavy lorry congestion and is inappropriately sited in a residential area. We also have concerns over the operating hours of the facility, and its subsequent impact on local people.'
