Liberal Democrat campaigners have been quick to raise issues relating to problems in the area's local open spaces.

'Our local parks and gardens are first class, but the Council needs to be on top of issues such as anti-social behaviour, litter and even drug taking,' says Cllr David Watkins. Liberal

Democrats believe that each of the City's open spaces should be managed by a community committee, giving local residents and users direct control over the running of the space. Committees could help run parks such as St Anne's Well Gardens and Residents Associations could run the areas's historic gardens such as those in Palmeira Square and Brunswick Square.
