Western Road phone mast sparks fury

Brunswick & Adelaide Lib Dem City Councillor, Paul Elgood has bitterly attacked a phone mast company for pressing ahead with a mast at Intergen House on Western Road, Hove, despite of widespread protests at the plan.

Commenting, Paul Elgood, who had presented two petitions against previous applications, said: 'For a long time we fought tooth and nail to stop this mast because of its proximity to local homes and offices.

'We had some success in getting two applications turned down, but these companies are absolutely determined to get a mast up there and has just carried on regardless until it got an application through.

'It is a shame that these telecommunication giants have to alienate communities in this way.'
