Lib Dem Councillors fight 'deeply flawed' incineration plans, again

8.58.24am GMT Thu 10th Nov 2005

Speaking at tonight's Policy & Resources Meeting, of Brighton & Hove Council, Lib Dem Environment Spokesperson Councillor Paul Elgood attacked Labour and Tory Council Leaders for wasting 10 years developing a 'deeply flawed' plan for waste management.

In his speech, Paul said: 'This plan is deeply flawed. Its already ten years out of date and fails to address the opportunities new technologies offer in recycling and waste management.

'Recycling targets are too low. Its got its geography completely wrong, and does not carry public support.

'Residents are now rising up in arms against this.'
