Lib Dems back home loans scheme for those on lower incomes

A council loans scheme to assist residents on lower incomes to renovate their houses is being backed by Lib Dem Councillors.

Brighton and Hove City Council has earmarked £620,000 for householders on low incomes.

Loans are expected to average £6,400 and will be for home improvements.

Cllr Paul Elgood, said: "Those on lower incomes are often least able to afford such work to be done. But this will increase the standards of their homes, making them brighter, healthier places to live."
