Lewes Lib Dem MP opens Brighton & Hove Campaign HQ12.00.00am GMT Tue 25th Mar 2003
Liberal Democrats have opened their Campaign HQ for the forthcoming city elections. The HQ was opened this week by the Lib Dem MP for Lewes, Norman Baker and is now fully functional. The HQ is at 169 Portland Road, Hove and will be open daily, except Sundays, until 1 May. Speaking to the city's election candidates, Norman Baker said: "There is a good feeling for the Lib Dems at the moment and the elections in the city give us a chance to build on our work in recent years." Councillor Paul Elgood, Leader of Brighton & Hove Lib Dems added: "This is the first time we have had a dedicated shop front in the city for some years - a further sign of our recent growth in Brighton and Hove. This will give a focus to our campaigning and provide the public with a one-stop shop for more information on Lib Dem candidates and our work." "We are upbeat going into next month's election. Brighton and Hove needs a fresh start. Residents are pleased to see us when we visit them and many are indicating that they are switching from the other parties to vote for real change in Brighton and Hove."
