Liberal Democrats in Brunswick & Adelaide are celebrating the 300th edition of the ward newsletter, "The Focus". Launched in the 1970s by former Lib Dem Councillor Bob Bailey the newsletter is still going strong and is delivered to 5,000 homes in the ward every month. The Focus reports back on the work of the ward councillors and often includes questionnaires and surveys to find out what local residents think about leading local issues.

Bob Bailey said:

"Since the 1970s residents in Brunswick & Adelaide have been kept informed by the Lib Dems on the work of their councillors. Its an institution in the area and residents say they look forward to receiving it. What is clear is that monthly Focuses mean all-year-round hard work from the Lib Dems in the area - you don't just see us at election time."

Paul Elgood added:

"We always work hard at keeping residents informed and up-to-date on local issues and the monthly Focus means we are always in touch with local people. The Focus also gives us an excellent opportunity to ask residents what they think and we always get a large response back. Its a great piece of pavement politics and its wonderful that it is still going strong after so many years."
